What's the difference between In Home care and Home-Health care?
In-Home care (non-medical) covers companionship, personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation and medication support. Home-Health care is medical in nature, including nursing and physical therapy, and requires a doctor's order. Many families need one, the other, or both. Affordable at Home Care is an In-Home Care agency.

How quickly can care start?
In many cases, we can begin care in as little as 36 hours following the initial assessment. Timing depends on your needs, caregiver availability, and how quickly we can complete the assessment and care plan. If you need help quickly, call us. We’ll be honest about what we can arrange and how soon we can get someone there.
Getting Started
What affects the amount of time it takes to start care?
The timeline depends on the client's needs and funding source, but we strive to start care as quickly as possible. Private pay services often begin within a short period after the initial assessment. Medicaid, Veterans Administration programs and private insurance payment plans may require authorization before care begins. Our office works closely with case managers, healthcare providers, and families to make the process as smooth and move as quickly as possible. We strive to be in your home within 24-48 hours! Urgent or emergency placements are often possible the same day or the next day. Call us to talk about your needs.

What services do you provide?
We provide non-medical in-home care based on what each person needs. That may include help with bathing and dressing, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, companionship, transportation to appointments, errands, personal mobility support, and respite care for family caregivers.
We can provide just a few hours of support each week or build a more consistent care schedule.
Services & Scheduling
Can caregivers run errands or drive me places?
Yes. Caregivers can help with grocery shopping, errands, appointments, social outings, and other trips around town. Transportation options may depend on the caregiver, the vehicle being used, and your individual care plan approvals, so we’ll talk through the details when we set up services.

Cost & Payment
How much do you charge?
Our rates depend on how many hours of care you need each week. We also offer weekly pricing for shorter schedules. Before care begins, we’ll explain the costs clearly, so you know exactly what to expect.
Cost & Payment
How is in-home care paid for?
Payment options vary depending on each person's situation. Affordable At Home Care accepts Medicaid, Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, private pay, and many long-term care insurance policies. Our team is happy to discuss your specific circumstances, explain available funding options, and help determine which programs you may qualify for.
For clients choosing private pay, we offer multiple service tier options that allow families to select the level of support that best fits their loved one's care needs and financial goals. If you're unsure what funding options you may qualify for, our team is happy to walk you through the available programs and help you determine the best solution for your situation.

Does insurance or Medicare pay for In Home Care?
While Medicare generally does not cover non-medical In-home care, some long-term care insurance policies, Veterans benefits, Medicaid programs, and other funding sources may help pay for services.
During our free in-home assessment, we discuss the client’s goals and provide a customized care plan with transparent pricing.
Cost & Payment
Is it extra for evenings and weekends?
No. We do not charge extra for evening or weekend care. Your rate is based on the amount of care you need, not the day of the week or time of day.
